Why so hard to find a good SEO today?

I hear a lot of complains about SEO firm performance lately.

A few years ago people wasn’t even sure if a business need a website. Today, the question about needing a website is far behind, most of the businesses already have a website, and looking for an SEO to get a traffic from the search engines.
Well, it’s impossible to find an SEO who will drive a large amounts of traffic to your site naturally for a few hundred dollars. If you see an SEO company offering packages like: “$499 SEO plan” or “$399 SEO plan”, most likely they don’t have anyone with an SEO knowledge.

Actually, I don’t think there is any SEO professional who is looking for customers today.

Why? Here is why.

For the past few years, the people who really know how the Internet Marketing works have been migrated from to the Affilate or CPA ( Cost per Action) business model.

If you don’t know what is Affilate or CPA: businesses with products or services are willing to pay a commission for the traffic delivered from your website to their website with many variations: some of them pay for every click, some of them every sell.

Anyone with an SEO knowledge – knowledge how to get traffic and convert that traffic into revenue is working on either their own sites or participating in the big social media network delivering traffic to “offers” where they have an ongoing “agreement” to receive a commission on orders generated.

This is the ONLY place for the people who really understand SEO are operating.

Why ?

Well, let say I’m an SEO and I want to use my knowledge to get some money.

Then I have two choices:

First, I can make a few webpages, add a content, title, tags, etc., promote those pages to in the search engines. Then put a link with related affiliate program, and then I will get paid for EVERY order that was generated from that link. I will get paid after years, every time when some click on it.

The second choice is to do the same for a customer or employer for, let say, $50 per hour.

Nobody in the right mind will choose a few backs per hour if they could create an identical assets, be paid out of this assets for years and years, over and over again, and keep the assets.
